Zooming canvases via a mousewheel used to have the same smoothing effect that the ui zoom button has. This was, apparently, unintended as it was changed in the latest Obsidian release, such that zooming via a mousewheel happens in discrete steps. This makes the mousewheel zoom jarring and just generally unpleasant to use.
The difference can be seen below:
Non-smooth zoom(using mouse)
Smooth zoom(ui button)
Proposed solution
Add a settings toggle to re-enable the removed behavior.
Hello. Is there a way to disable the smooth zoom animation in Canvas ? Maybe I’m not using the good keywords but I can’t find any solution on the forum. Setting windows 10 performance on “best performance” doesn’t work.
Being able to disable ALL animation would be great.
seems like this is still an issue. I find the navigating around canvas with the scroll wheel (for both zooming and navigation) is jarring and causes mild nausea
