Smaller search sidebar window

Up to this point, search has been at the upper left of my stock Obsidian desktop. “Something” that I did inadvertently has created a largish, square window at the top of the left sidebar. It contains search and below it space for results. That space is wasted 99% of time for me and I want the Files list to once again take all or almost all of the sidebar. How do I make the search revert to its original state?

I would hate to have to reinstall Obsidian but I will if needed. Surely this should not be necessary.

you are better off moving the icons from the right sidebar (long press on icon of backlinks, outlinks, tags and outline) and drag them individually – carefully – over to the spaces between icons on the left sidebar and then when all done, close right sidebar you’ll need to extend the left sidebar in the process by hovering the cursor over the right edge of the left sidebar and drag it right to have space to accommodate the transferred icons before you do all this, you can use the core workspac…

Also, if you think you have made an error, in the .obsidian folder, the workspace.json contains your vault workspace arrangement. Renaming that file to workspace.json.bak or anything else with Obsidian off and re-starting Obsidian again will have you back on the original plain stock/default settings.
