Successfully retake your anatomy class with the Slide and Reveal Plugin.
Problem
My friend was duplicating PowerPoint slides and essentially making a flip book animation of shapes that would conceal words and reveal them as he would scroll through the duplicated slides. So if there were 20 things to conceal across 10 slides it means he’s drawing rectangles for a living.
Solution (probably)
- Export your PowerPoint slide as one of the offered image formats.
- Move the folder to Obsidian.
- Install the Plugin and Enable it.
- Right click the folder from the directory and choose the option to open it in
Slide and Reveal - Start adding rectangles and draw shapes with the polygon tool on a single slide and scroll within the slide to either reveal or conceal the parts you need to memorize.
Neat Features
- Pair the label and item associated with it.
- Make groups of items to reveal/conceal simultaneously, with the option to propagate the pair number.
- Flash Feature (for the macromedia
): Set a timer for how long you want to unhide something before it is automatically concealed again. - Quiz yourself. To get started, click a cover’s crosshair button and draw a second polygon over the thing the label points to and repeat that for everything you want to appear in the quiz.
- Set colors for each shape.
- Study and edit mode, with different scrolling behavior inside and outside the slide.
- The slide previews on the left sync with the interactive list, similar to PowerPoint (please don’t sue me, the Copilot button people).
- The plugin doesn’t duplicate anything in the vault; annotations live in a single hidden
.slide-and-reveal.jsonper folder, so sharing/syncing the folder works.
P.S. Success is not guaranteed.
P.P.S. I wish I had named it “Scroll and Reveal”.
