Since I have updated to the latest version of Obsidian v1.8.9, When I click on a note to open it the note area is blank and I am unable to place my cursor in the note area and do anything with it. In the bottom right corner, it still shows how many characters and words are in the note. It makes me think that the note is still there intact but for some reason Obsidian isn’t showing me the contents of the note or letting me edit it. My note names are all still represented in the left hand side bar and I can click to open them but they all show a blank note window.
Here are the standard troubleshooting steps: About the Bug reports category - #11 by system
- Make sure to backup your notes in case data is being lost.
- Update Obsidian if your installer is older.
- Update all community plugins.
- Test without plugins
- Test without CSS snippets and with default theme.
- If you are storing your vault in a cloud sync tool, make sure it is configured to have the notes downloaded locally to your device, and not uploaded to the cloud.
It was the community plugin Sliding Panes (Andy’s Version). Once I disabled that everything seems normal again. So I have uninstalled it. I know that sliding panes is standard now so maybe there was some kind of conflict between the community plugin and the base plugin. Although, why it only showed up now is still a mystery to me but I am just glad it is fixed. Thanks, rigmarole for responding.
