Hello
I deal with a lot of text, and Obsidian’s (let’s call it) “Words Spread per Glance” is low for me.
Here’s how it usually looks (and I’ve zoomed out quite a bit) (I’m using Apple’s SF Pro font)
(I know of “Readable line length”, and I want to keep it enabled. Disabling it isn’t a solution for my use case)
My desired view is something like this where one page is next to the other. Imagine it in Obsidian, editable and so on… (My PDF viewer is PDFelement by Wondershare)
“Blind Creep” by Obsidian’s default layout paralyses me, if I have something like this I would plow through my work.
My Problem
-
I have to go through many steps to export the md file to a PDF file. (Only to double the files and have siloed changes)
-
Obviously you can’t sync your PDF edits to the markdown file, it would be inefficient to try to do so, and it’s not intuitive to edit a PDF file anyway.
It would be soul-soothing to just have an option to toggle on and work on the text in that view inside Obsidian IN REAL TIME!!
Steps to export
Step 1 (Export) (I’m using the Better PDF Export plugin which is amazing)
Step 2 (Pre-Process & Re-Export)
Step 3 (Open and view) “Non-Sync, External and Uneditable of course”
Closing
If you’ve read this far… THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!
Please consider upvoting this post or sharing it, you’d help me resolve these…
Yes that’s over 2700 notes and near 9000 pages (and I’ve decluttered mind you)
(listen… I like knowledge as much as the next person in this forum.)
On a serious note, thank you again for reading my post, and I hope I’ve managed to clearly relay the problem and the intended value behind this system.
