For those who don’t have a lot of folders and primarily rely on tags for organization, a file path rarely communicates anything useful. On the other hand, seeing file tags would provide the much-needed context.
It’d be useful if there was a plugin that could replace the file path shown in the Quick switcher and link suggester with file tags.
Now, a file may have dozens of tags and showing all would add too much clutter. Instead, have the tags occupy a single line and make it horizontally scrollable if some tags don’t fit.
The closest available workaround I know of is to use Notebook Navigator with its Omnisearch integration, which can show tags for each file listed. But any tags that don’t fit into the sidebar width will be clipped…
