Should i use Obsidian for Tracking my Reading list?

Hi, there. I use google sheet to track my reading/watching list ( It has Manhua, Manhwa, Manga, Webcomic, Webtoon, Novel, Anime, Donghua, Drama, Movie)
But the problem is that i can’t use multiselect option in google sheet mobile app, which is really frustrating. As well as the filtering can’t be saved in mobile. and adding short notes is a hassle too, which change the size of row. then adding new Items to a multiselect column is a problem too and adding colors to items of a multiselect column make it look cluttered.

This type of problem, i won’t face in Obsidian. But the problem i could face is the number of .md files. for now i have 2.5K names, migrating isn’t a problem for me. but this names could very well cross 10k (because i usually collect names from tiktok, as long as i liked it a little, i collect video link and name). So, if i were to use obsidian, i would have a number of 10k files.

So My Question is, would it affect the performance of obsidian software? That’s the only concern i have.

please kindly let me know should i move to obsidian or stay in google sheet?
Best regards.

I just checked and I have 3999 files at the moment in my webclip vault, but I’ve had plenty more. Obsidian doesn’t behave any differently than when I had 1 note.

In my opinion, you won’t have any problem, but I think there are posts in the forum about vault size, you could check those.

I have over 70,000 notes in my vault. Yes, that is 70 THOUSAND.

To be fair, many of these are images, .stl files, etc. – things that are not simply .md files.

For straight .md files, I bet I have about 30,000 – and my vault still runs fine. Re-indexing takes a while, but that’s rarely necessary.
