Use case or problem
In my workflow, I often create many new notes within the daily journal to record the day’s observations and learning. These notes are usually fragmented, and later on, I organize them in a Canvas.
However, it’s currently cumbersome to locate and add these notes to a Canvas after they’re created, especially when managing multiple topics.
Proposed solution
Add a feature that allows users to quickly send a note to an empty space in a specific Canvas directly from the notes panel or within the note itself. For example, by typing ((Python.canvas))
at the top of a note, it would be automatically placed in an open area of Python.Canvas
when opened.
This would greatly improve the efficiency of content collection and organization in Canvases.
Example
Current mode:
On June 2, 2025, I learned about the Python 3.14 new feature – template strings (t-string), and created a corresponding new note.
Later, I open Python.Canvas
, vaguely recall there might be a relevant note not yet added, and then manually try to reference it. This process is inefficient.
Expected improvement:
On June 2, 2025, I learned about the Python 3.14 new feature – template strings (t-string), and created a corresponding new note.
At the beginning of the note, I use ((Python.canvas))
, so that the note is sent directly to an empty position in Python.Canvas
. When I subsequently open Python.Canvas
, the note is already there and ready for organizing.
Current workaround (optional)
I manually search for the note and drag it into the desired Canvas, which becomes tedious with frequent note creation.
