Selecting Text on Mobile (Android) - Speed + Unwanted Selection Change

Steps to reproduce

On Obsidian Android, Long pressing text + Dragging the “Text Selection Handle” (the “buttons” on the outer limits of the selected text that you can drag anywhere on the screen to expand the selection) up or down the screen. Text Selection Speed seems

Did you follow the troubleshooting guide? [Y/N]

Yes, Tested in Restricted Mode.

Expected result

I would expect a variation in speed selection. When I move the “Text Selection Handle” lower down the screen, I would expect an acceleration in the selection process the more I move the “Text Selection Handle” down the screen.

Actual result

By long-tapping (pressing) on the beginning of the selection that I want (a word, a paragraph, etc.), then by dragging the “Text Selection Handle” Up or Down the Screen, Obsidian seems to shoot me directly to the End or the Beginning of a Note. And this, in reader View.

Also, when I try scrolling down to continue selecting, the initial “beginning” of my selection, if it “disappears” beyond the upwards limits of the screen, when expanding downwards the selection, the “beginning” of my selection is no longer the initial paragraph I started out on, but everything from the very beginning of the Note becomes selected, up to where I am currently selecting text.

As a bonus, I would find it useful to have an option in the settings to set a Custom Selection Speed Rate, that could be tailored to a user’s preference.

Environment

Not a “Proper Bug”, per se, but a “Faulty” (or unusable) behaviour perhaps.

Additional information

You did not fill out the environment section following the bug report template.

Also, I am not sure I understand what your problem is.

Perhaps the issues I was trying to relay were solved in the last update.

Selecting text on the Screen is still a bit awkward and “choppy”, but the issues I was describing no longer seem to be there.

Regards.
