Search Sidebar Rendering Bug When Too Many Results Are Visible in Tall Screens

Steps to reproduce

  1. Search for anything with a large number of matches (e.g., ~400 notes).
  2. Maximize Obsidian’s window or use it on a large external monitor.
  3. Observe the rendering of search results in the sidebar.
  4. Scroll down through the results.

Did you follow the troubleshooting guide?

I started my vault in restricted mode with default theme.

Expected result

Search results should render smoothly and continuously, regardless of how many are visible onscreen or how large the window is.

Actual result

  • Results render in non-continuous chunks with blank gaps in between.
  • As you scroll, a large number of results suddenly appear at once instead of being progressively loaded.
  • This issue does not occur when the window is smaller, even with the same number of results.

Environment

Obsidian: Version 1.8.10 (Installer 1.6.7)
Device: Apple M2 Pro
OS: Sequoia 15.5 (24F74)

Download and reinstall obsidian.

Use default theme and enable restricted mode. Restaurant obsidian.
