After some testing it appears that “close all other tabs” and “close others in tab group” does the same thing on mobile, and it makes it confusing which to select when a user is simply trying to close other tabs in iOS. Given the options they will subconsciously have to consider both. I tried both and they seem to do the same thing every time. Only one should be kept for clarity and conciseness.
Steps to reproduce
open two tabs on iOS mobile
open command pallete
type “close”
notice “close all other tabs” and “close others in tab group”
Should be only “close others in tab group” without “close all other tabs” (it could be the other way around too)
Actual result
Two different buttons that does the same thing

So today I did end up noticing a difference between the two actions. “Close all other tabs” closes every tab regardless of whether it is pinned or not, while “Close others in tab group” keeps pinned tabs and closes all other non-pinned tabs.
In this case I think both actions should be kept as it can be quite cumbersome to unintentionally close pinned tabs. Personally, I see myself using “Close others in tab group” more often than “Close all other tabs”, but each has a purpose.
Yes I understand that. But functionally, the main thing it does differently is that it’s basically a “close all non-pinned tabs” action, despite its current name (“close other tab groups”) on mobile. So you can consider renaming it, thus repackaging the action as a new feature.
