However, the “reveal file in navigation” command is not very convenient. You need to right-click on the tab of the open editor, and then pick it at the bottom of a long context menu. This is a bit inconvenient and there should be a faster way.

There is a command for this in command palette and you can bind an hotkey to it.

Scroll file explorer to currently active document

It would be very helpful and a nice feature if the file explorer could automatically expand and scroll to the file currently open/in focus in the editor. If not automatically when changing focus, at least using a command or button (exactly the same as the “Sync with active document”-feature in Visual Studio).
