Insert Images - Basic help

HI everyone newbie here, I am using Obsidian on a iMac and having numerous issues, the main one being bringing images in and formatting them - at the moment they are just full size on the page. I have tried reformatting them with code but it’s not working. Would anyone have any resources to point to for getting started. Many thanks. A lot of functions are not working eg toggle preview mode.

I’ve asked chatgpt for lots of solutions but even those strategies are not working - Im also having trouble getting started with the canvas - bringing images in etc. I chose Obsidian as I want to bring in video photo sound with my text files.

To scale images, do this:

![[Your image.png|300]]

Also, I suggest you to install the community plugin Attachment Manager.

thank you so much yes I did look there, but for anyone else reading - after Jopp’s suggestion, I searched for ‘images’ and sections are in the help document. One issue I’m having is where to type the code for the images and help with layout in the Canvas. Thanks so much @Jopp

Hi @Jopp I think Im ok now, the plug in you suggested means I don’t need to use code, I can drag to resize, and, I searched the help file for Canvas where I found enough detail to get me started- so very very grateful, thank you

Image Converter – despite the somewhat misleading or limiting name – offers loads of cool image related functionality like crop images, delete them, annotate them…
Stuff we were only able to do via Excalidraw before.

There are still a couple of sticky things for me - 1 - on the right hand side, in the TAGS icon search function, all of my tags are listed, but searching for them with or without a # does not produce any result. I can manually scroll through them, and there seems to be a lag in them appearing in the list.

The image controls where I can resize by dragging works with Canvas but not notes.

Also is there a way to time code your entries?
