Reliable Web Clipper for Daily Notes (with emphasis on *reliable*)

I tried multiple webclippers for obsidian and they all fail over time, after updates and are generally speaking not reliable. The Obsidian Web-Chrome-Plug and Local Rest API stopped working after an update and another webclipper for obsidian doesn’t append to daily notes.

Is there any other plugin that can simply send a URL from Chrome to my dailynotes?

Good question, I would like to know that too.

I created a chrome extension that doesn’t depend on obsidian nor localhost REST server.
chrome extension name: markClipper
so that i can say this extension doesn’t break on obsidian update.
markClipper need local folder permission to work.
markClipper can copy or append bookmark page as markdown link [page’s title](page’s url) into existing notes.

find markclipper at chrome web store

Wow, super convenient ! :star_struck:

But Vivaldi (latest version) on Mac gives me problems, if i click “Clip Article”, Vivaldi crashes every single time. I guess i will continue using MarkDownload

@Jopp
Thanks for trying.
Vivaldi doesn’t support chrome’s side panel api. This is vivaldi’s fault.
Please use chrome browser or wait for side panel api support in vivaldi.

I have been using markdownload and it has been very reliable.

I was checking your extension’s site. I can’t comment on the extension yet, it looks great in the video, maybe better than MarkDownload, which has never failed me.

But these placeholders…

And the site says “forever free” but I see a Pricing button that currently shows no info:
Do you plan to make it a paid extension? Not a criticism, I know the site is a work in progress, I’m just curious.
