Quick Switcher: Mix and match words from title and aliases

Use case or problem

  • You know the use of aliases.
  • You can easily add aliases to one-word titles. America=US=United States=USA
  • When you add a concept involving this one-word note, you could use any of the aliases
  • For example, The poor in the US= Poverty in America
  • The problem is when searching back for this note, you might actually enter Poverty in the US. No matches!

Proposed solution

I suggested before aliasing words (e.g. US) wherever they occur. But here I want to suggest that, using only the aliases mentioned in the example above, mix and match words in them while looking for a note.

Poverty in the US should match.

The only way I can get this to not match is if I quote the whole phrase. It matches unquoted and when using line:(poverty in the us).

I just tried it. One word from title + space + one word from alias. No results.

Am I doing something wrong?

ETA: I realize the confusion. I should have specified I am talking about the Quick Switcher

OK, I’ve added that to the title.

Thanks. And it is brilliant that we already have “title + raw body, any order, partial matching” search. Now it is the Quick Switcher’s turn.
