I want to use Quick Draft Capture primarily for quick voice memos via widget that get transcribed and saved as .md files in my vault. The free version doesn’t support this, but before I upgrade to the paid plan, I need to know:
How well does German transcription work? Any experience with accuracy on German speech?
Can I review/edit the text before saving? Or does it save automatically after transcription?
Looking for real-world feedback before committing to a subscription.
this is a thoughtful quick-capture shape. the part I’d pay attention to long-term is the “route before/after/inside a section” model — that’s the difference between a capture inbox and something that can safely write into a working vault.
for the share-sheet/custom-text request, I’d +1 making “review/edit before send” optional rather than default. direct-to-route is great when it’s muscle memory, but for clippings/photos I often want a last 10-second annotation before it lands.
The app uses GPT-4o for transcription, which is currently one of the top models in terms of quality. I chose it deliberately, even though it’s more expensive than alternatives, because transcription quality is the priority.
I’d expect German to work well, but the best option is probably to try it with your own voice. If you’re not happy with the results, just email me at support and I’ll happily refund your subscription, no questions asked. If you’re on Android, that’s straightforward. If you’re on iOS, it might be a bit trickier, as Apple doesn’t allow developers to issue refunds directly.
