Publish favicon not working in Safari [Version 18.1.1 (20619.2.8.11.12)]

Steps to reproduce

Add a favicon file named favicon.ico to the root folder of my Obsidian vault, and published it to the site, per the Obsidian Help instructions .

Expected result

To see favicon on my website when viewing in Safari.

Actual result

I still see the Obsidian icon instead.
The desired behaviour works in Chrome only.

Notes

I know this has been reported before and even fixed before, but it is a replicable issue today.

To save time for anyone else, here are the steps mentioned in the Reddit article.

If you have any issues with incorrect tab icons/favicons showing this fix worked for me:

1. quit safari
2. delete the Favicon Cache folder /Users/USERNAME/Library/Safari/**Favicon Cache**
3. empty trash

Now Safari tab icons should all refresh to the correct ones.
