Properties...Theme

What I’m trying to do: The insert template option / command offers ready made ‘properties’ to place aliases, tags, and a theme.

My understanding is that this ‘theme’ property has nothing to do with the visual interface themes already in use and available on the platform.

I have taken them to mean just what they say: they are ways of grouping numbers of files together without the use of tags…sort of broad subject-area meta tags if you will.

Things I have tried

I looked in the instruction manual and found a reference to ‘theme’ under properties. This says you can search by this property ‘theme’ by placing square brackets around the theme name in the search bar and going from there.

I tried this and nothing happens even though I have about 7 documents with the theme, ‘Consilience’.

What am I missing?

Can you link to where you are seeing the theme Property in the documentation? These are the defaults built-into Obsidian:

You can, of course, add your own theme Property and give any notes with it whatever values you’d like.
