Properties: Change from "text" to "date&time" rewrites day and year. Month and time unaffected

Steps to reproduce

  • Right click on a property in a note, that contains a date and time as text
  • Convert it to date & time

  • Yes , new vault, restricted mode, was reproducible

Expected result

  • To see my date format with the correct year.

Actual result

  • month and time were correct, but year and day is different
  • property before as text: 17.10.2023 08:41:02
  • property after as date&time: 20.10.2017 08:41:02

Additional information

While the display format of date / date time varies according to the OS locale, Obsidian accepts the ISO (YYYY-MM-DD) format date for the stored property value, and the conversion is based on the same ymd sequence. You may try entering a date using the date / date time picker, and see the format of the stored value.

Your string β€œ17.10.2023” got parsed as β€œyear: 2017, month: 10/Oct, day: 20”. The last two digits were omitted due to the limitation of day value.
