What I’m trying to do
I’m trying to get the date field to populate in Calendar View when I’m using the Projects plug-in.
Things I have tried
I’ve searched the help docs for a combination of “dataview”, “projects”, and “calendar view” but haven’t found anything specific to why the field is not showing up for me. I’m pretty sure I have the yaml frontmatter set up correctly in my templates. Also, all of the other views in the Projects plug-in have everything showing up just fine for me. No matter what I do, the “Date” field always shows up with “none” greyed out in only the Calendar View.
I’ve uploaded screenshots of the template and how the calendar view currently looks for me.
Do you have any notes with empty dates? That was my issue and after I made sure all the date fields for my project notes were filled in I was able to see the date field in the calendar dropdown.
So I had notes with dates but they weren’t in the date format in the metadata. I understood why those weren’t showing up in Projects.
I forgot I made this post until I saw your reply today and I’ve since been able to get the date field to populate in Projects. Not sure if this or multiple resets of my notes did it, but I added another date property with a different name and somehow that line showed up on the calendar. Then I went and deleted the original date property and I haven’t fiddled with it since.
Going back to my original sentence about the date formatting, I wonder if even only changing the property type in the metadata wasn’t enough to get the notes to populate in Projects…
