I’ve been happily using Obs for over a year. Vault has 1,400 pages. On a network drive. Windows 11 desktop app. Latest version. 1 x Kanban plugin.
For the last year I have had a set of startup pages pinned and my vault starts to workspace in a few seconds.
For the last week, the vault loading takes 25 seconds or so. (As reported by the Obs: ‘slow startup’ report - but no detail as to what might be happening in those 24 seconds).
Just ‘Loading vault…’. And then opens either to my pinned/last pages or sometimes to the ‘New tab’ - ‘No file is open’ page.
If I load a page and then edit page titles or edit some pages, sometimes that jiggles the vault and it will then revert and re-open the vault in seconds - opening the pinned pages and previously last viewed pages, other times we’re back to 25 seconds to open and it forgets any pinned startup pages and last pages viewed.
Any suggestions gratefully received.
Things I have tried
Because the startup time of a few seconds is fine some of the time, it doesn’t feel like a generic issue with the Kanban plugin or any specific pages.

Odd that it’s reporting Windows 10 Pro - my laptop is deffo Windows 11 Pro…
I have a few tables - but those only have maybe 5 or 6 columns and maybe 10 rows.
Given I don’t know what base64 images are I probably don’t have any…
I do have imbedded pdf files within pages - which I set up behind folds so you can read the text of the page and unfold the pdf file if you want to review it.
I think I did add a pdf moderately recently, so will see if I can find that latest added pdf and remove it if you think that might be causing the issue.
You have an old installer.
You need to reinstall with the latest electron version.
That would take care of having to reindex your vault as well.
Your workspaces.json and workspace.json will stay untouched but you may want to rename them (which is a way of deleting them but keeping them for reference) so as to create fresh workspaces to build up again.
But I think the workspaces issues are a thing of the past now.
Thanks Yurcee, having got Vn1.7.7 of the installer installed things are back to the vault loading in seconds.
Your help is much appreciated, thank you.
