Plugin or CSS Snippet to view Markdown syntax in Preview Mode

Hello!
I’m currently in search of something that allows me to view Markdown code while in Preview mode.

The reason behind this is that I like to add custom statuses to my lists, following the style of Bullet Journaling (BuJo). Although there are themes available that support this, personally, I prefer to see my code in plain text. Less distracting, I though.

Ideally, I’m looking for something that highlights titles, italics, and bold formatting, while still displaying the Markdown syntax symbols, but it’s not really necessary.

If any of you have come across a theme, plugin, or CSS snippet that accomplishes this, I would greatly appreciate your suggestions. Thanks in advance!

Do your custom statuses have icons or something similar that won’t render in Source mode?

Source mode seems to check off a few of your requests, but of course won’t render embeds (images, other notes, etc.).

Nope, just regular symbols, like /, ?, !, i, etcétera…
I know that in Source Mode will show it, but I’m wondering if there’s a way show in the same way in Preview  without render the content, or al least still seeing it. Something like this:

Something like this. This isn’t Markdown, but simply I like how this look even in the read mode

Understood. I wasn’t sure if you knew about Source mode. Some folks don’t.

If I come across any CSS or plugins, I’ll report back. :envelope_with_arrow:
