Community Directory: link-picker
Obsidian’s link autocomplete searches the whole vault and ranks fuzzily. That’s the wrong tool when you know the link belongs in one folder and want the same note to come first every time.
Link Picker is a link picker you can point at a folder and then navigate: pick a folder to go into it, pick .. to come back out.
- Predictable ranking. An exact name beats a prefix, which beats a path match, which beats a scattered match. The same query puts the same note first every time.
- Aliases and folder notes are names too. A folder’s alias is read from its folder note, using your existing
Folder notessetup. - Named pickers. A folder you link into all the time becomes its own command, already rooted there, with its own prefix and suffix.
- Callable from templates and scripts. The picker returns the link as a string, so it can go straight into a property value.
- Toggles for all files, subfolders, folders only and sort by date, each with a hotkey and a button, so it works on a phone too.

The docs are a demo vault: run Link Picker: Open demo vault, or read it on GitHub.
