Decided to stop waiting and build the Kanban View for bases.
Some notable features:
- Drag & drop cards between columns with smooth animations
- Edit properties inline (with autocomplete suggestions!)
- Batch select and move multiple cards at once (Shift/Cmd/Ctrl + click)
- Custom backgrounds with blur/brightness controls
- Auto-migrate your old Kanban boards from the non-bases kanban plugin
- Plays nice with Pretty Properties for custom tag colors

- If you have old Kanban board - you can try migrating it with “Migrate legacy kanban board to bases“ command (don’t worry, it will leave the board intact, but will add properties to every linked note on it)
Why I made it: There’s a certain satisfaction in building the tool you need rather than waiting for someone else’s vision of it. I wanted a Kanban that works exactly how I work - opinionated, a bit experimental.
Still a lot of things on the todo list - search, batch editing of properties, card covers, keyboard navigation, card blockers, etc - but it’s pretty usable right now. I decided to share it early to keep momentum and avoid burning out on it.
