Plugin: Bible Sidecar

Hi Folks,

May I introduce my new plugin I have worked on for quite a while now. It’s called Bible Sidecar. This Plugin allows you to open the Bible in your sidebar and interact with it, eliminating the need to switch between applications or websites during your Bible study. You can click on verses, and it will automatically copy said verse to your clipboard, ready to be pasted into your Bible study notes. You have a good amount of customizations to choose from. You can choose how the reference is displayed or how the verse numbers are formatted.

I’d love to hear your thoughts on my plugin and would be thrilled if you gave it a try.

Check my plugin out here: GitHub - janisringli/bible-sidecar-obsidian-plugin: This repository contains a plugin for obsidian that lets you view the bible in a sidebar within obsidian.

Or Search for it in the Community Plugins in Obsidian.

Cheers!

Search would be nice.
And Greek and Latin versions.
Is English version King James? Because there are tendencies to re-interpret stuff with not always the best of intentions…

Hi, ring_liii… thanks so much for this plugin! I really appreciate the convenience this brings to studying the Bible.

One question: is it possible to link from a note to a specific page (or verse) in the Sidecar?

Thanks again

This is excellent! Thank you.
I was wondering. Where does the plugin pull the bible verses from? From your github repo?
Thx again

Not the author, but it seems to be from Bolls Bible API.

My concern would be that modern, copyright bible versions don’t seem to have been licensed. Not a problem for the KJV, obviously, but it might be for NLT, ESV, NIV etc.
