Use case or problem
In 2022 some users requested that the vault name appear first before “Obsidian v. #” in the title, so that we could quickly see which vault we were selecting when working with multiples. Presumably the vault name came first in the Windows task bar as well. Their wish was granted.
But now the vault name is in second position, after the open tab.
- Tab name, 2. vault, 3. Obsidian 4. v#
The vault name doesn’t come first, which means it is still difficult to work with multiple vaults at the same time.
Proposed solution
Please put the vault name first in the title bar so that it may also be first in the taskbar. There are too many times I’ve added things in my Work vault that didn’t belong there.
Current workaround (optional)
None that are simple. I spent a lot of time trying to distinguish my vaults with snippets that used different colours that would display in the taskbar (that seems impossible) but different toolbar colors do appear in the taskbar hover preview. It stopped working a while ago, though and I never had to the time to investigate.
I then created different icon colors for each of my vault shortcuts, all for nothing because when the program is open it’s always the default purple icon that is displayed, so no difference between the vaults.
I would rather not use a different theme for each of my vaults just because the vault name doesn’t appear first in the windows title.
