Pdf viewer not render if file is outside the current vault

What I’m trying to do

I try to embed a pdf using this command below. The pdf is not in the current vault

As you can see, the pdf viewer is not rendered

Things I have tried

  1. Put the pdf in the current vault, the file can be rendered in the viewer
  2. Put the pdf in a different vault, the file cannot be rendered in the viewer

Obsidian doesn’t currently support that. There is a feature request for it which you can upvote: Transclude \ Embed external files (audio, videos, pdfs) present on the computer outside the vault. There may be workarounds in the discussion or links.
