PDF rotation incorrect in obsidian, correct in standard pdf.js viewer

Steps to reproduce

• Download the USB power Delivery specification PDF from usb org document-library/usb-power-delivery
• Extract the pdf USB_PD_R3_2 V1.1 2024-10.pdf from the archive and add to a sandbox vault.
• Open the PDF and it is rotated clockwise 90°
• Open the PDF in native Mac OS Preview, the PDF is orientated correctly.
• Open the PDF in Firefox using the PDF.js online viewer demo.
  • google search for pdf.js demo viewer, can’t post link… (Drag and drop local file to viewer window.)
  • The PDF is correctly orientated.

Did you follow the troubleshooting guide? Y

Expected result

I expected to see the PDF in portrait.

Actual result

The PDF is in Landscape with an orientation of 90° clockwise rotation

Same problem for me, encountered today for the first time.

I grabbed a copy from https://www.hwwiki.net/lib/exe/fetch.php?media=%E6%A0%87%E5%87%86:usb:pd:usb_pd_r3_2_v1.1_2024-10.pdf

It looks alright on my end; viewing the PDF and embedding it.

Obsidian v1.9.12, Obsidian installer v1.8.10.

Installer version: v1.6.7

I’d try updating your installer to see if there’s any change.

I deleted and reinstalled Obsidian (macos) but the PDF remains sideways
