Password protection for published "garden"

Things I have tried

I’ve searched the forum and FAQ and the web but I can’t find the answer to my questoin.

What I’m trying to do

I’m considerint to purchase “Obsidian Publish”, the only reason for that is: I want to create a “membership area”. Which means I only want certain people to access the online version of my vault (preferably with a unique password for everyone involved).

On Obsidian homepage it states about “Publish”:

With password protection and custom domain support, Obsidian Publish fits right in no matter if it’s a wiki for your team, documentation for your client, or a help desk for you customers. (Source: Obsidian Publish)

However, I can’t find any further information about this.

  1. How does this work? (I’m looking for a screenshot of the “admin area” or where ever I’m going to set this up.)
  2. How many passwords can I set up?
  3. Can I let the passwords automatically expire after a certain time period?

Any link or information would be appreciated.
Thank you very much.

This is a payed feature … is there really no answer to this?

There is an icon that is in the sidebar once the plugin is toggled on. Click on the icon, and it will show the Publish Options.

There is a gear icon representing the Site Options next to the site name.

This is the Site Options.

Thank you very much for your response!
Is this Password site-wide (for all published pages of the vault at once)?
Or do I have to set a password for every single published note/site?

Hi @sopi,

Is this Password site-wide (for all published pages of the vault at once)?

As of 2021-01-20, the password you choose will be applied site-wide.

To your earlier points:

  1. How many passwords can I set up?
  2. Can I let the passwords automatically expire after a certain time period?

You can create and revoke multiple passwords, but I don’t believe you can expire them automatically.
