in my vault, the page preview core plugins seems to appear twice.
Can anyone give me a hint as to how that might be happening or how to proceed to fix, preferably without recreating my whole vault?
If i turn it off and on, it fixes itself, but I suspect it is messing with some other plugins that are not working. In any event, it returns on reload.
I’d try all of the troubleshooting guide steps and report back if you see any difference.
I should have mentioned that I had already done those steps. Turning plugins and css off does eliminate the problem, but troubleshooting which plugin is causing it is difficult because I have no small number of them. It appears that I need to reload Obsidian each time to see if the problem is solved. Even using Divide and Conquer, this is quite time-consuming. (Also, for some (unrelated?) reason, divide and conquer is also not working properly on my vault, and it fails to properly reset when I try to go a level up, forcing me to manually reactivate plugins. After doing this several times,…) I was hoping for some insight into how the preview plugin is loaded that might help me target the plugin that might be responsible before taking a scattershot approach.
ah. Continuing with trial and error, it looks like I may have found the culprit, or at least an accomplice, after all: Hover editor. Fresh install of plugin reproduces the error. Will see if I can get a get a sandbox working. Thank you for your kindness in responding…
For future reference, in case anyone else encounters this, after a lot of trial and error, it appears the actual cause of the double preview (in my vault) was the Surfing plugin, not hover editor, thought it does seem like there is something going on there as well. For my vault, this was the consistent culprit…Finding it involved partially using divide and conquer, and partially step by step turning of plugins on and off in groups and reopening the vault (necessary to make the error appear) (though this gave inconsistent results sometimes). Surfing ended up being the one that stuck through several openings and reopenings of the vault.
