Steps to reproduce

Out of memory

ff.md.zip (9.4 MB)

Put the attached file into a vault and open Obsidian

Did you follow the troubleshooting guide? [Y/N] - YES

Expected result

Expected: Obsidian does not crash

Actual result

Actual: Obsidian shows Indexing Vault banner and after some time window becomes blank. If console is open via CMD+OPTION+I then auto-pause happens with a message “Paused before potential out-of-memory crash”

Improve support for very large markdown files (greater than 1 MB)

Currently, there is no enforced hard cap on the maximum allowed single markdown file size. However, as the file gets larger, different problems start to become apparent. There are performance slowdowns, likely due to the indexing process, the automatic savings, file recovery snapshots, syncing frequency should also be fine tuned for these case. Beyond a certain point, large files can cause OOM problems, especially on mobile.
