How can I mark modified (unsaved) tabs with an asterisk? Many IDEs and text editors support that feature

Couldn’t find option or extension which provides this functionality.
Obsidian is constantly saving. The asterisk would appear for less than a second before disappearing, so it’s basically irrelevant.
Is this behavior configurable? Why having Save current file command if so?
I imagine if they left that command off, there would be 1000 threads on the forum asking “Why is there no save command??!”
