Optimize Canvas Perfomance

I have a Laptop with AMD Ryzen 3 3250U and 16GB RAM and at only 120 nodes Canvas is already not comfortable to use without seriously increasing the zoom threshold in the options. Zooming and navigation are not smooth, slow, and laggy. I have only a few plugins installed, really doubt that makes a difference.
Please optimize Canvas performance to make it more usable.

Why “Help” if many many other people have literally the same experience and issues with its perfomance as I do?

The issues seems to stem from the lazy loading/removal of nodes on the canvas edges during navigation. Check out this snippet for a hacky workaround:

A hacky solution is increasing the size of the wrapper canvas element using a .css snippet so that nodes aren’t removed/inserted at the canvas edges when moving around. Adding a css transition on the canvas element also reduces ‘choppiness’.
