Opening a Vault from a storage medium in iOS

Hey!
I have started to create a local vault on my USB stick and would like to be able to use this stick on the iPad. So it would be great to be able to open a vault from the iPad’s file explorer!
A local storage method that I could use on different devices (computer as well as mobile) would make Obsidian much more attractive as an independent and own knowledge base!

Absolutely!
Better support for the iOS files would be incredibly helpful! I realise it would hurt the Obsidian Sync revenue. Still, I would happily pay a small fee to support development while using OneDrive (through the iOS files implementation) to sync with other devices.

Plus one for this suggestion. Being able to access an Obsidian vault on a USB in iPadOS would be very useful.

Use case or problem I am using Obsidian on macOS, Linux and Android - and today I installed it on my iPad as well. On iOS the only place where I can store my Vault is the “Obsidian” folder. I am aware that iOS has restrictions in the way apps can use the file system. But some apps allow creating and editing files outside of their “own” folder. My use case: I want to be able to freely interact with the Obsidian markdown files from other apps. That would be best possible if I could store the vaul…
