Open New Notes in a New Tab/Window Pane

I basically use Cmd + N to create new notes, but it automatically overtakes the current note that I’m working on. Is there a way for me to automatically create new notes in a new window pane instead? I often find myself in a situation where I’m creating a new note and then I need to go back to the previous note. Instead of constantly clicking the back button, it would be much easier if I just had a setting automatically create a new note as a separate window pane.

In obsidian 0.14.15 I see a command “Create note in new pane” bound for me (on Windows, so likely replace Ctrl with Cmd on Mac) to Ctrl+Shift+N - would that work for you?
