I built a language toolbox to help in working with Japanese text. You can lookup meaning and reading, insert furigana, and build glossaries with it. Everything runs locally and the source code is public. It works both in the editor and inside PDF files. On first run it requires a few minutes to build the database.
You can install it using BRAT or manually.
