Obsidian won't load the image outside vault directory

Steps to reproduce

in vault, create a note, try to insert image that are sitting outside relative to vault directory
![](../pic.png) the picture won’t load, the image will be loaded if it stores under vault directory i.e. ![](./pic.png).

If you want to link to images outside your vault, you have to use an external link, and I think only absolute paths are supported as of now. Basic formatting syntax - Obsidian Help

For filesystem links use ![link name](file:///path/to/your/image.png)

If you alt-drag an image on to Obsidian, it should make the link automatically for you.
