Obsidian sync: how many devices

What I’m trying to do

Set up 2 iPad and one iPhone plus a Mac with Obsidian sync

Things I have tried

Syncing and deleting Obsidian

5th generation iPad mini. Obsidian blinks on and off after syncing it. Seems like the software is not working with the old iPad.

The newer iPad and iPhone load and sync the Obsidian, but there seems to be a limit to how many devices I can sync. I have looked in the manual for a clear statement of the number of devices, but nothing is stated.

All the advertisement is about more space. I need more devices. I tried to sync the iPhone. Now Obsidian is blinking on and off on the iPhone. Maybe I should give up until Obsidian calms down.

There is no limit on the number of devices.
Only a recommendation to not edit from more than 20 devices on a single remote vault simultaneously.

What do you mean by “blinking on and off”?

The screen goes black and then for a moment, Obsidian can be seen. Mostly the screen goes black. I am in dark mode.

OS was upgraded yesterday. Maybe there are problems adapting Obsidian to the new OS. It happened on two devices. I will wait to worry about this later.

Thank you for your information on the number of devices. So, that should not be the problem. But it says on the screen that I have too many devices. I will wait and see.

This time failed to load remote vaults

Tried loading again. (iPhoneSE 3rd generation.)

Some files did not load I think because I did not use the button to prevent the iPhone from sleeping.

Now Obsidian appears to be loading. The obsidian logo appears for 1 second. Then the bar indicating loading of the app appears.

Then the screen saying No file open.

Thus 3 screens blink on and off for 1 second.

I am leaving the phone plugged

About 3 minutes later, the Obsidian icon blink on and alternates with the new Note emblem.

If I turn off Obsdian, and turn it on again, I see the above 2 screens blinking in alteration.

iPad mini 5th generation had the same reaction as the above iPhone.

I hope this helps someone. I am going to give up until Obsidian has an upgrade. I am going to turn off my OS’s automatic upgrade. It invites trouble.

One more iPad.

The 3rd iPad is newer. 12.9 3rd generation. All devices are loaded with OS 17.5.1. This one synced prefectly. No problem!
