Obsidian Ownership Model

Lately, I have been concerned about the future of Obsidian. I appreciate how important this tool is to the future of PKM and with all the talk about enshitification and investment firms/corporate buyouts, I am once again reviving this topic.

Is the decision-making power for Obisidan distributed amongst a group of founders? The reason why I am asking is that all it takes is one founder to decide to sell Obsidian to a competitor or investment firm to destroy what the community has built via plug-ins and the like. I know people don’t want to talk about this as it probably comes off as adversarial, but it really needs to be addressed. In my lifetime, there has been a lot of consolidation in software. The recent problem with the investment firm Silver Lake and WordPress points to a problem in this area. If Obsidian isn’t going to be Open Source (not like that would protect it completely) I feel like its important to distribute the decision-making power between a few individuals that are operating as founders or some other title. Can we get some information on Obsidian’s current ownership model?
