Obsidian mobile elements (misaligned|overlapping) under certain conditions

In the discord, I posted about an issue of elements not having the correct (margin|padding)s , other elements overlapping where they shouldn’t . I didn’t get any answer that worked

For reference, here’s a couple screenshots demonstrating this issue

Happens in Default theme, so not theme issue

Thought I was only one with the issue until seeing a recent reddit post about it happening to some one else . The user factory reset, then reinstalled Obsidian and it came out like this

I think I’m experiencing same issue as this person , as I also had to factory reset at some point , but can’t say for sure that’s the source of the problem . Want to know who else had this issue and what might’ve happened to cause it

Hello.

Enhanced default is not default.

Create a new blank vault. Does it happen there?

What is your phone exactly, android version and android webkit version. Thanks

Sorry about that ! Here’s how it looks with Default theme

Android version: 10

android webkit webview version and what is your phone?

Do you mean Adnroid WebView? WebKit is an Apple thing, not Android afaik.

Then the android webview version’s 81.0.4044.138 . Sent message to the mod what phone I use because I want to keep it private

That is very old, are there updates available in the play store (or android updates)?

Well, just tried updating it thru an APK but didn’t work (says it needs a shared library my device doesn’t have) . Guess I’ll think it through and I’ll report back if I decide to go through updating the system and see if that fixes

Sorry by bad, you must update android webview to a newer version. Even if your devices runs android 10, you should be able to update android webview.

Very strangely, though I can’t update the normal webview , can install (beta|canary) versions , which seemed to fix most of the issues

Though the caveat of doing this is that these (beta|canary) webviews don’t stay selected , you have to open webview devtools to select them again . The chosen webview gets reset when powering (off|on) the device for me , making this workaround tedious for those that do it often

Obsidian seems to randomly “forget” my vault every time the webview version gets reset , meaning :

  1. You constantly need to manually enable community plugins
  2. The entire vault is being re-indexed , which gets annoying quickly
