Obsidian launch very slow on Linux

Steps to reproduce

  1. Install Obsidian (or download AppImage)
  2. Create or Open any vault

Expected Result: Obsidian should open quickly (2-3 sec)
Actual Result: Obsidian takes 20-21 seconds to open and display anything

Reproduced with existing vault, new vault and sandbox vault.

Additional information

After facing a similar issue in VSCode there was a workaround available to disable gpu acceleration (--disable-gpu). It required a second flag to be effective (--disable-software-rasterizer) but passing in these two arguments has worked both on VS Code and Obsidian. It does feel like a bit of a hack / workaround though.

It doesn’t happen to me. Is possible that this is something specific to your hardware? What computer do you have? Are you running under X11, Xwayland, or Wayland?

It looks like it based on what I see in lsmod; several mentions of i915.
