Hi i started using obsidian from last april and for the few months after that everything was good
then the last june onwards the app is not opening no matter what i do
i tried reinstalling after going through the uninstall and still the app is not opening
is it broken for my laptop or something
i have made myself notes after a long work which was easy to view and pathfind through obsidian , i would like help in having to use the app again
My os is windows 11 with latest obsidian installed and still not working
Can you describe more specifically what happens? Does it open to a blank window? Does it open and then immediately crash? Does nothing ever appear?
You said you uninstalled. But maybe you can try going to this folder, making a safe .zip backup copy, and then deleting the folder completely before you reinstall. (Don’t store a vault in this app settings folder. And if you did, make sure to back up the vault folder!)

Another thing that ariehen often suggests is to try making a new user account on your computer, and install Obsidian there. If it works, then there might be something happening in your user account that needs fixing.
what i meant is that when i try to click open it , it is not responding , like nothing happens not even the process loading is happening
i cliked the icon and checked task manager to see if any process is running for starting this up but nothing is happening
let me try what you said to backup and delete the complete folder
deleting that worked
