Imagine that I create a database of cities. And I would like to group them in that database, like the image below.
However, I would like to group by geography or by size. And be able to switch between these views. Is that possible? I was not able to find a way.
Currently you can only group by one property/formula in bases.
If you want to switch between two different groupings, you can create a second view. Then you have View 1, grouped for Continent and View 2, grouped for size.
However, I would like to group by geography or by size. And be able to switch between these views. It is currently not possible.
Please don’t flood the forum with identical issues. Instead of replying here, you made two new posts and linked them all together including back to this one. These have been deleted.
But Zodian replied to you. It is possible to make multiple views and switch between them.
At the top left corner, click on the view and then “Add view”.
Or run the command `Bases: Add view`.
And there you go. Multiple views you can switch between. Each view can have different filters and sorting and grouping. You can even duplicate existing views to make adjustments from one you like.
I’m not sure what blogs, videos, and threads you were visiting. The help page is here: Views - Obsidian Help
First, sorry if it appeared as repetitive posting. I thought that it would be useful as a plugin or a core feature. Thus, I posted in both parts of the forum.
Second, I am aware of different views. I tried that too. Base in the image that I posted possibly had multiple views. Multiple views is not doing it. My explanation of the issue might be lacking, I’ll do a better one.
