Obsidian buttons (or links) to websites don't work

I just installed Obsidian. The buttons or links that should open my browser don’t do anything. For example, the button to “visit” the “official help site”, or the link that says “Read the changelog” (under where the latest version is listed), or the links to visit a plugin developers pages don’t do anything. I’m using Linux and my default browser is Firefox. Url links to open my browser work just fine in my other programs (such as pdf reader) - just not in Obsidian.

Can anyone help me with this?

I think I vaguely remember seeing other discussions of default browser problems on Linux. Try searching the forum and see what you can find.

I saw some old posts from 2022. It looked as if the problem may have been left unresolved. There were technical matters - but because the issue was old (over three months old), it was closed, and so I could not ask any questions. Sorry for the messy “Deletes” - but I don’t seem to be given permission to edit my posts for clarity.

No problem. You’ll get edit permissions automatically after being around a little longer (they’re restricted to prevent certain spam techniques).
