Obsidian AppImage, VeraCrypt, and config files in an offline qube

What I’m trying to do

I run Obsidian as an AppImage in a Debian qube in Qubes OS. The qube has no network access, and I keep my vault and the AppImage inside a VeraCrypt container.
I’d like Obsidian’s app-wide configuration and related data to stay inside that container too, rather than being written to ~/.config/obsidian. I understand that the container’s contents are available to the qube while it’s mounted, but I’d like to avoid leaving Obsidian data behind elsewhere after I close the app and unmount it.
Is there a reliable way to move or redirect Obsidian’s global config when using the Linux AppImage? Are there other locations where Obsidian might write data that I should check?

Things I have tried

I changed Obsidian’s Override config folder setting to use a different folder name, but it still writes app-wide data under ~/.config/obsidian. As I understand it, that setting changes the vault-specific config folder, not the global app config.
I haven’t yet tried setting XDG_CONFIG_HOME in a launcherHas anyone used either approach successfully with the AppImage? I’d also appreciate suggestions for checking where Obsidian writes files in a Debian qube.
