Note Forward/Back Arrows missing

What I’m trying to do

On each note I used to have forward and back arrows to go to the previous/next note, but they have disappeared. I’m feeling dumb and can’t find if it’s a setting, theme setting, or plug-in that gives the forward/back arrows. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

It’s in > Appearance > Show tab title bar
