Use case or problem
When you want to always start anew naming or searching for where to extract to while using Note Composer.
Proposed solution
Have an option to disable the auto-filling of the Note Composer dialog when the top line of your selection is a heading.
Related help: Is Note Composer supposed to autofill dialog when extracting text with heading at top?
Thanks!

I rarely if ever want the prefilled text. And despite having used Note Composer many times, the prefilled text almost always trips me up. I expect to be able to just start typing, but then the note I’m looking for doesn’t appear and I realize I’ve appended text to the heading name that was prefilled in the field.
Another approach instead of an option to not autofill might be to preselect the autofilled text so it can be kept or typed over. Someone who wants to add more will have to place the cursor, but since they’ll already be typing, an extra keypress shouldn’t hurt (and I’d guess it’s the least common use case),

I’m not sure what the posters above are talking about, and what they mean by pre-filled text.
I’ll voice my gripe with Note composer.
Using it tends to be a disorienting experience because, in my humble opinion on what constitutes good design, one expects to see the result of their action as a confirmation that their action was, in fact, successful. But when I extract a selection/heading, I don’t get any sense of whether the text ended up where I wanted to. I might as well have sent it straight to the trash.
Solution? Simple: always open the note to which the text was extracted in a new tab. At the place where it was extracted to.
My current workaround is having the link generated in place of the extracted text (the “Link to new file” option in the settings). I then go through this link to confirm that extraction was a success and then delete the link.
Is this along the lines of what’s requested here?
No, that’s unrelated. Does rereading this part make it clearer?
I’ve revised & expanded the title (was “Option to not autofill Note Composer dialog”).
