How do I prevent Obsidian from creating an embedded youtube video for markdown links to a youtube video? It takes up space and clutters the note.

Obsidian doesn’t do anything if you just paste a URL or insert it as a markdown link (check this in the sandbox vault). If the URL becomes an embed, it is because you or one of the plugins you installed put ! in front of the markdown link. (Or there might be some plugin that turns any markdown link with a YouTube URL into an embed, I’m not sure. But I’m sure it’s not Obsidian’s native behavior)

Thanks. It looks like the Ideaverse included the Simple Embeds plugin which was doing it. Fixed now.
