I have logged in with the account in obsidian desktop mac. But still, when I check for updates, it shows as “your app is up-to-date” event though my current version is 1.4.16.

Confirm that your license is active and manually download it from your account page on the Obsidian website instead of using the in-app update feature.
You need to download insider builds within Obsidian.
Downloading from https://obsidian.md/ will just give you the latest public release.
