I’m excited to share a project I’ve been working on for the past three months—NetClip, an Obsidian plugin that lets you browse the web and clip webpages directly into your vault. It helps you organize content with categories and makes web clipping seamless.
Demo

Availability
NetClip is still under review for the Community Plugins list. I submitted it a month ago, addressed the requested changes, but haven’t received a response yet. While waiting, you can install it via BRAT:
You can now sort saved articles in the Clipper view by different criteria:
A-Z: Sort articles alphabetically in ascending order.
Z-A: Sort articles alphabetically in descending order.
Newest First: Sort articles by modification date, with the newest first.
Oldest First: Sort articles by modification date, with the oldest first.
Added domain-based filtering to sort articles by their source website
2. Category Tab Icons
Now you can customize the icons for each category tab in the Clipper view using icons from theLucide icon library.
To change an icon, navigate to the plugin settings, select the desired category, and enter the name of the Lucide icon you wish to use (e.g., book, folder, tag, star.).
Improvements:
The ad-blocking has been optimized for better performance and efficiency.
We hope you enjoy these new features and improvements! feel free to provide feedback or report any issues.
Default Quick Save Location: You can now set a default folder for quick saves when no specific category is selected.
Domain-Specific Save Locations: Automatically save clips from specific websites to designated folders:
Configure custom save locations for different domains (e.g., reddit.com → Reddit folder)
Each domain can have its own unique save location
Saves automatically route to the correct folder based on the website’s domain
AI Clipping: NetClip now supports AI-powered clipping! Instantly transform your clipped content with customizable prompts for translation, summarization, and note formatting or create your own. Learn how to create prompts here.

Bug Fixes
Fixed an issue where variable names and values in the prompt editor would save automatically during typing. Changes are now only saved when clicking the Save button.
Install ed fine but didn’t sync across devices. Had to install separately in each device ( windows 11x2 , iOS 1 haven’t tried android yet. ) weird unacceptable behaviour. Open a file and it starts creating new home screens. Dozens possibly hundreds of them till I force a. stop. The idea is great and I want to get it working .
